Welcome to Blaxland Rovers Hockey Club!
BRHC has a strong presence in the Women's competition held at Nepean. We pride ourselves on being inclusive, respectful and maintaining a healthy balance of competitiveness and fun.
BRHC is part of the Nepean Hockey Association (NHA), where the women's competition is held on Saturdays. 2026 timeslots are not yet announced, but previous seasons have seen games run from mid-morning to early evening.
All games will be played at the same field we train on (WSU Kingswood Hockey Fields). Game times are 90 minutes long and comprise of a 10-minute warm-up, 4 x 17-minute quarters with 2-minute quarter break times and a 5-minute half-time break.
The club enters a minimum of one team into both grades. There is no official grading system with coaches, captains and convenors working with the players to find a grade that works best for the individual and the club. We take into account the want for skill progression, friend and family relationships and even team numbering.
Training at BRHC focuses on skills and techniques, while accommodating to individuals' specific needs. You can join the team drills or spend some one-on-one time with a more experienced player to nail the crucial basic skills.
Women's training runs from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the hockey fields located inside the Western Sydney University Kingswood campus.
NHA requires all players to wear shin guards and mouthguards during training and games. You will also need a hockey stick, which the club is able to provide if needed. Our uniform comprises of red socks with two white loops, red shorts/skorts and a club jersey. Returning players can use the jersey purchased in previous seasons and new players can purchase one via our shop tab. Shorts/Skorts and socks can also be purchased here, or you can wear your own as long as there are no other logos on them. We also have a limited range of club merchandise that can be purchased.
