Welcome to Blaxland Rovers Hockey Club – Men’s Competition!
BRHC has a strong presence in the Men’s competition held at Nepean. We pride ourselves on being inclusive, respectful, and maintaining a healthy balance of competitiveness and fun.
BRHC is part of the Nepean Hockey Association (NHA), where the men’s competition is held on Sundays. 2026 timeslots are not yet announced. All games will be played at the same field we train on: WSU Kingswood Hockey Fields. Game times are 90 minutes long, comprising a 10-minute warm-up, 4 x 17-minute quarters with 2-minute quarter breaks, and a 5-minute half-time break.
The club enters teams based on registrations. There is no official grading system; coaches, captains, and convenors work with players to find a grade that works best for both the individual and the club. Factors considered include skill progression, friendships, family relationships, and team balance.
Men’s training runs on Tuesday nights from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the hockey fields located inside the Western Sydney University Kingswood campus. Training focuses on skills and techniques, while accommodating individual needs. Players can join team drills or spend time one-on-one with more experienced players to strengthen key fundamentals.
NHA requires all players to wear shin guards and mouthguards during training and games unless a waiver is signed. Players will also need a hockey stick, which the club can provide if required. The uniform comprises red socks with two white loops, red shorts, and a club jersey. Returning players can use a jersey from previous seasons, while new players can purchase one via our shop tab. Shorts, socks, and a limited range of club merchandise are also available, or players can wear their own items as long as there are no other logos.
